Basket Die by Sizzix

This is my favorite die and so it was a pleasure to share it with my last two paper crafting classes. I recommend using double-sided paper with this die. To make a basket, you just run the paper through the die cutting machine and half of the basket will come out each time. Because the die both cuts and scores, you can only run each paper through once. Also, depending on the pattern on your paper, you have to pay attention to which way you place the paper. Each time the die is run through; you get one handle and half of the basket, including the holes to fasten the brads onto the handles. You can glue both handles together or leave them as is. Either way, I recommend using both of them on the basket. It is just a matter of folding, gluing and using brads and your basket is complete. I make baskets for all seasons using a variety of papers. As my students discovered, the baskets can be widened by not completely overlapping the two die cut pieces. Here are several baskets my students and I made using the Basket #2 Large BigZ Die by Sizzix. Other dies we used in class are the Bows, Easter Elements and the Milk Carton Box which are all linked below. Of course, to use the dies, you need a die cutting machine. We used the Big Kick during my classes.
